Pure Post-Kauffman Machinism
by Edwin (movies profile)
Jul 11, 2008
As said in the title,The Good Night's screenplay is a lot alike to Charlie Kauffman's screenplay. It has the same wicked plotline, yet the screenwriter doesn't truly know how to handle things as well as Kauffman and eventually falls into a classic mid-life crisis film, cokked a la The Last Kiss or Garden State,or even recent mediocre Allen films like Melinda Or Melinda. The problem is,the movie had some potential, some actors like Paltrow or Cruz and DeVito were fantastic and the setting was hip and modern. The problem also comes into casting Martin Freeman and Simon Pegg.Because of their acting, the spectator asks himself wether this is Hot Fuzz 2,or just a bad interpellation. |
