Interview is one odd cat and mouse game played by a political/war journalist Pierre Peders (Steve Buscemi) and soap star Katya (Sienna Miller). After he has been demoted to such an interview, he plays the professional role and is at the dinner on time. Katya though is almost an hour late and seems to care less though she apologizes. Soon into the interview she realizes Pierre has no idea who she is. After leaving the interview rudely and leaving the restaurant, she poses for pictures for the paparazzi as Pierre gets into a cab. The cab driver decides to heckle her and ends up running into the back of a parked semi. Pierre is hurt and since Katya was responsible, feels bad takes him back to her place to clean up after hitting his head. From then on, the interview begins again and it seems to be a game of tit for tat. You do this, I'll do that, you tell me this, I'll tell you that. By the end you are going…hmmm, ok. Why is this beautiful woman subjecting herself to this odd guy, and why is this odd guy taking all of her BS? The movie is just odd. From beginning to end, it is uncomfortable. Because of that, you are drawn in because you want to know what is going happen. Interesting, but weird. C+ |
