Although I'm not particularly into country music, this was a great movie. The music, the story and the direction were awesome. Toby was smart to play himself, and did a fine job for his debut film. Burt Reynolds was excellent and young Lindsey Hawn, both as an actress and a singer was outstanding. At the end of the movie, her song merges her life and art, providing both an emotional summary and a moving climax to this tale of family, love and reconciliation. Sometimes, broken bridges can be repaired. The movie sends this message in a powerful and cathartic way that will lead many viewers toward healing. |
