Rosario Dawson stars as an innocent college student named Maya whose view on life is shattered after becoming the victim of rape. After wandering the underground scene, she encounters a local street thug named Adrian (Marcus Patrick). Together, the two exact revenge on the perpetrator Jared (Chad Faust) by relentlessly giving him a taste of his own medicine.
At first glance, this film may seem to be very self-indulgent, and it is extremely graphic to say the least. But it makes several statements on human behavior-and all are very worthy of attention. A round of applause should go to director Talia Lugacy for tackling such difficult subjects and making the audience take notice.
If you can stomach the intense scenes of rape and torture, and keep an open mind as to what is trying to be achieved, the end result will prove to be a wake up call. |
