We just returned home from seeing the movie "Amazing Grace". I believe it was one of the best films I have ever seen. The story was transforming and the acting superb. The story changed the face of the British Commonwealth and ended the slave trade. History often is shown stilted and empty...NOT THIS FILM! The lifetime struggle of William Wilberforce to end slavery and his mentor John Newton, the author of the song "Amazing Grace" illustrates what one man can do to change history. An amazing film. |
