I believe this movie was well done. I spent time in Iraq and I must disagree with the critics on this film. Experiences vary with every single soldier. This movie shows four possible outcomes of being a soldier in Iraq. I think they showed those four outcomes rather extensively. To be honest, you cannot understand unless you have been there or are very close to someone who has been there. To be even more honest, you could have been there and had completely different experiences than the soldiers in this film. All around, I feel it was pretty realistic and it wasn't very politically-driven. For me, that makes a worthwhile film about the aftermath of serving in a war. I'd recommend this movie to veterans, friends and families of vets, and everyone who doesn't even know a veteran. |
