I am sure someone who was in Iraq felt as if it was true to life. I for one found the movie to be a poor representation of the war I experienced. The Iraq scenes were no where near close to what I experienced. The way the people were injured or killed would only happen to untrained military personnel.
The acting was suspect at best. I did not attach myself to a character. That is very rare for me. It may be do to the fact the the direction was so poorly done. The movie jumped from character to character and never really let the plot develop. It was almost like watch reality TV live and just as a conversation starts to get good the change rooms.
I personally would not recommend this movie to anyone. Unlike the review before mine I would not recommend my soldiers watch it as part of their debriefing. In fact I would make them watch it as an alternative punishment to KP. I was in charge of over 100 men in Iraq. I had two wounded seriously and a few others with family problems but nothing as sever as anything in this movie. |
