Don't believe the hype....not for real horror fans

My friends and I waited a long time to see this movie. The reviews given on its site were unbelievable. We were ready to see the next "Halloween" or "Friday the 13th."
Unfortunately, websites lie. As far as real horror goes this did not qualify.
Typical characters: dumb bimbo, bitchy bimbo, token sarcastic black guy, etc. So many "boob" shots I thought I was watching porn. Maybe they thought showing boobs would makeup for the lack of storyline. Victor Crawley's makeup was horrible. Overdone and not very detailed. Up close he looked laughable. (which, by the way, the whole audience was doing). Where was Tom Savini (movie makeup icon) when you need him. This movie had no suspense, no tension, no real scares.
Don't expect to be terrified, which is why I want to see a horror movie. The gore and kills are well done but as a horror movie it was more of a joke. My friends hated it. I only thought it was o.k. as a popcorn movie. It is more comedy/horror (think "Slither").
As far as real horror fans go, this movie will be forgotten in a week. |
