Sarah Michelle Gellar is cute. Brendan Frasier does his part. How they managed to pull so many good actors into this stink fest is beyond me. The story and editing sucked.
It starts out like a good movie. Forrest Whitaker plotting a bank robbery after loosing a bundle to a bookie. Reminded me of him in the Jodie Foster flick with the secret room. But Forrest doesn't get away with the bank robbery and his part ends with him having a laugh on the top of a building surrounded by police. Thats not how anyone I know would portray happiness. Stupid. Then Brendan comes along. The movie is trying to be realistic but Brendans character can see the future. It doesn't make any sense. The characters are likable and performances are good so I keep watching. The movie is supposed to be based on an ancient proverb of happiness love sorrow and pleasure. The director failed big time to get that message across. I leave the movie feeling like Sarah is a brat and the four men that touched her life happily risk it all for her because shes kind of cute. Not knocking Sarah this movie was a dud despite good acting. |
