Copying Beethoven

Anything involving L.v. Beethoven I have always found interesting as one of the few genius in music and complexity of his personality. There have been other movies about Beethoven mostly documentaries or the 1994 "Immortal Beloved" with Gary Oldman as Beethoven.
This version w/ "Copying Beethoven" focus on that one specific time in his life and his final 9th symphony.
The movie succeeds because it does not over reach into the life, times, history, music or Beethoven's personality (famous temper) but rather presents an insight to all those aspects.
Ed Harris and Ann Kruger put forth a solid performance. The presentation of the 9th caught the connection that each character had at that moment for the music as Ann (Anna Holtz) marked the tempo for Beethoven.
I would recommend seeing this movie before it is pushed aside by the rush of other holiday releases.
The obvious question is after "Pollack" and "Copying Beethoven" which artistic giant will Ed Harris focus his attention on next.
Thumbs up.
