Even the commercials didn't inspire me to want to see this movie. I thought it looked stupid. Then I found out (on the way to the movie) that it is about a bee that sues the human race for eating his species' honey. Had I read a plot outline BEFORE I told my boys I'd take them I would have bribed them with effort-free allowances for the week. However, I was stuck keeping my word and so away we went. I spent $40, and two hours of my life is wasted on this horrible movie. I enjoy a good Dreamworks movie whenever one comes along (minus Shrek 3, and so I was expecting Bee Movie to be at least decent. It wasn't even worth seeing at a $1 movie theater. The plot is ridiculous, the charachters are shallow, the jokes are not even funny to a five year old and, and.....TWO ADULTS ARE SEEN SMOKING OUTSIDE A "HOSPITAL" WINDOW! And let us not overlook the fact that the boyfriend of the main human character turns gay by the end of the moivie because he was rejected by his girlfriend and jealous of a bee. With all the acting talent possible for this movie I think it would have been just as good (or terrible) if Dreamworks had hired unknowns to do the voice over work.
In conclusion, Bee Movie is not worth your time or money and the only reason I'm spending another fifteen minutes on this lousy excuse for entertainment is to possibly deter anyone else from wasting their time and money. Don't see Bee Movie. You'll regret it. |
