This movie's sense of humor was lost on me until I paused the DVD and got some wine. Then it took on an almost "Midsummer Night's Dream" kind of mood. If you've got a bottle of wine handy, this may be a movie you'd like. It was a joy to catch a few glimpses of Hayden Christensen's lightsaber action with a steel sword, but that was short lived in this flick. The humor is very European with lots of silly, unnecessary sex scenes. But, hey, it's Hayden Christensen's big, dark, troubled, dreamy eyes over and over in many sensual close-ups. Guys may enjoy this movie for the bawdy, carnal displays. And I assume that most girls might like... Frankly, girls, I think you'll enjoy over 90 minutes of Hayden in (and out of) leather pants. Really, it's the whole reason that this movie was made; you may as well go with it. |
