Being in the public eye can be both a burden and a blessing. For Elisha Cuthbert’s character in the movie, Jen, it turns out to be a burden- in the most severe sense of the word. She is held captive by a psycho who is obsessed with her work, and has meticulously planned how to torture her with her own worst fears. The movie is very edgy and has a gritty look to it. Some of the shots are, in my humble opinion, absolutely amazing. Director Roland Joffe` really has an eye for adding an ultimate creep factor through the intricacy of the set design and shrewd subtlety of the lighting. I got a couple of really good scares from this movie, and it definitely has a high gore factor. If you are into gore and suspense this movie is just what the doctor ordered. For me it was a good mix of the two. The movie was able to kept me on my toes the whole time! Go watch it if you dare!!! |
