Very enjoyable family feature with gorgeous animation, perfect voice work (especially by Jeff Bridges as Big Z, the aging surf guru) and a very cool documentary style storyline. If you're like me and were completely tired of penguin movies after March of and the way-overrated Happy Feet, you should be pleasantly surprised with Surf's Up. A lot of time, money and talent was put into this movie, and unlike Shrek the Third, it shows in the final product. In a summer of really disappointing sequels, this is one of it's nice little surprises. |
