I took my two kids to see this movie largely due to the fact that I loved the cast. I was initially very impressed with Robin William's performance. He is an outstanding actor.
Although the movie's plot is really unrealistic in modern times, the movie flows along nicely even with the ridiculous situation in the back of your mind.
Most of the "cool" parts are when the music begins to develop in the little boy who eventually is called August Rush. It is amazing, and anyone who loves music will appreciate all of th emphasis on music. The ending is satisfying, but very abrupt. In saying that, I cannot imagine how they would have managed any other ending without getting too overdrawn out, but some questions still needed answering.
All in all, the movie was ok and what is to be expected by Hollywood's standards. You can predict almost anything throughout the movie, yet those Hollywood writers want more and more. |
