I saw this at the Waterfront Film Festival in Michigan, and it was really close to being the best movie of the day. However, since I saw the Descent and The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang on the same day, it was a 3 way tie.
Jeff Bridges leads a fantastic ensemble cast in a film about a town that attempts to create a porno film. It's a last ditch effort by Jeff Daniel's character to make money. He's a loser whose many get rich quick schemes had failed. But he was sure this one would be a winner.
So, he assembles all his friends, assigns them positions, such as producer, cinematographer, etc, and then tries to find people to fill the roles. Sadly, this turns out to be more difficult than he imagines.
Major accolades go out to Joe Pants as a good friend, and Ted Danson, playing a gay man. Hilariously out of character for him, but he does a great job.
I really loved this movie, I laughed all the way through it and at the end, walked out of the theater with a smile. Great film! |
