Interesting Story and Great Animation

My wife and I took our 4-year old son to see this movie as we wanted to take him to see his first movie (the alternative was Hotel for Dogs and he chose Coraline based on the animation).
There was no point in time when he was scared in this movie at all and in fact, he fell asleep for 30 minutes in the middle. I think that story line was too complicated for him, so he mostly reacted to individual scenes in the movie. I can see how kids that are a bit older could be scared at some of the visuals, but ours was not.
The Coraline animation was incredible and my wife and I enjoyed this movie. Is this a kids/family movie? I'm not sure about that... I would much rather have taken him to a more 'Disney-like' movie, but we did not have that option. Nonetheless, our son enjoyed his first movie experience. |
