Ted Crawford(Hopkins) finds out that his wife, Jennifer(Davidtz) is having an affair with Detective Rob Nunally(Burke) and then Crawford plans out the perfect way to murder his wife.
Detective Rob Nunally is one of the many cops that arrives at Crawford's house and it just happens to be that he is the only officer who is allowed to enter the house. Surprisingly Ted Crawford admits to shooting his wife. Even though Jennifer was shot at close range Nunally realizes that she isn't dead.
This seems like an easy case for the young assistant district attorney Willy Beachum(Gosling) who is on his way to a high paying job in corporate law if he wins this case. After a while Beachum realizes he is caught up in a game of cat and mouse with a man who is very smart and had everything planned out ahead of time. Crawford is then set free on a series of technicalities and this is very bad for Beachum who is in some trouble and needs to figure this case out.
This movie has wonderful acting from Hopkins and Gosling and a plot to go with it. Hopefully people see this movie because it's great. Vacancy looks good but i think this is probably better. |
