For the first time, I like the movie better than the book. The book was very sad. The movie provided an excellent combination of drama and comedy. It was funny, heart-wrenching, very-well directed and thought provoking. A previous user stated it badly done because it added the comedy which was not in the book. He or she felt the comedic aspect minimized the seriousness of how neglected these "poor little rich kids are." I disagree. Life is full of sadness, drama and comedy. Combining the three makes it true to life. Throughout the movie the point is clearly made that these rich children are not raised well and it's a tragedy. My 17 yr old son went to it with me and he loved it too. He was afraid I was taking him to a boring "chick flick" but he enjoyed it immensely too. A great show. Go see it. |
