As a Marine who served in Liberia and saw the aftermath of the both brutal civil wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone, respectively, I think it's about time that Hollywood finally portrayed warfare correctly. This film shows exactly how these present-day African bush wars are being fought; children being brainwashed and drugged into killing. If I am to compare it to another film, I must say it is the equivalent of Hotel Rwanda without the watering down of the genocide. This film is brutally honest and good. Anyone who has posted that this film "sucks" is the typical spoiled American who takes for granted the privilege of never seeing war or the 3rd World up close. |
