This movie is what it is, and accomplished what it wanted to do. This type of movie is not meant to be taken seriously. It is hilarious. It catered to its audience amazingly well. It took all the elements from 'good' slasher films and put them together. It's almost as if the writers put up a checklist next to their script: Inbred serial killers? Check. Hot, young girls stranded in the middle of nowhere? Check. Creepy (ex) boyfriend? Check. Gratuitous shower scene? Check. So-fake-it's-funny blood? Check!!!
Are the actors supposed to be good? No! If you are going to see a slasher movie, don't go expecting Oscar worthy material. Come on people, get a clue! |
