i havent done a yahoo review for a while but being a huge Saw fan and the great anticipation i had for this movie, i have to share my feelings and opinions.
ok, i was extremely excited to see this movie...and left pretty disappointed. the movie fulfills its promise of bringing loads of gore and squeamish scenes that will make you shudder, but its flawed story held it back greatly. i love the gore that these movies bring to the screen, dont get me worng, but its the story and the big twists at the end that really make these movies awesome.
the movie starts off with great promise, once again with two gruesome scenes to get things moving...then with the capture of the doctor who is forced to tend to jigsaw, and also the other guy whos put through a series of tests (that sums up what everyone should already know from reading the sypnopsis). from here it goes back and forth between present and past. i really liked how they flashbacked to scenes setting up the first movie, i thought that was well done. then gruesome scene after gruesome scene go by and you may be sitting there wondering whats going to happen at the end...
the only problem with that is i felt like i already knew what was going to happen so when the "big twists" came, i was sitting there thinking to myself "thats it?"
i think that those people more unfamiliar with the Saw franchise will like this movie more because for those die-hard Saw fans, like myself, you understand the uniqueness of the first two movies, how each of them incorporated a twist that you never saw coming. the first two movies set up a very high standard for the third movie and this is where it missed the mark. i felt the ending could have been done much better and that something more unexpected would happen so thats where my disappointment set in...
the acting wasnt as good this time either with the exception of jigsaw...amanda (shawnee smith) just didnt seem to perform as well being an all-out villain rather than a victim of jigsaw's games...the other two actors in the movie just kinda went through the motions of the characters given to them, not really making you feel for them as much, cause your more focused on whats going to happen in the end (if you havent figured it out already)
of course you have to see the movie if you've seen the first two, just dont hold it in comparison to the first two (its kinda like how the matrix revolutions ends the matrix trilogy, just not as horrible as that was)...i think that this movie would have better if it somehow wasnt affiliated with the fist two movies or something...i still enjoyed the movie so i did give it a B-, it just could have been so much better...

honestly i really did not like the ending to this "trilogy" (i guess thats what you call it). i felt like that if you have paid attention to the first two movies that you knew all along that amanda was being tested, that jigsaw never really trusted her, and how could you, shes a crazy physcopatic b****...then the whole deal that jeff and the other chick were husband and wife, who cares??? big deal!!! so now that every one is dead...whats going to happen? is someone going to take over jigsaw's throne, the movie just ends with jeff about to play one more game...having to find his daughter, are they going to do anything with that?
