A musical gem in a sea of old tat!

Just when I was thinking they may as well bull-doze every movie theatre in the land there comes a ray of hope for the future of film in the dazzlingly funny Music & Lyrics.
This wonderful romantic comedy pairs the comic Britishness of Hugh Grant with the cute quirkyness of Drew Barrymore to excellent effect. But while you can be left wondering weather the story actually ahs a beginning, middle and an end, you find yourself happy to drift through scenes of such well observed behavious I would defy anyone to leave not saying "I've done that!"
I gentle rom-com it may be, but it does take more than a passing satirical swipe at the pop music industry of today.
In short, Music & Lyrics is the only film in a long time I have found worth watching. You would be a fool to miss it! |
