I have to say that I saw an awful lot of similarities between this version and the version that aired on A&E that is coming out to video titled "Flight 93". The difference between that flick and this one was that "Flight 93" was much more emotional as far as the views of the families of the passengers and crew on board. "United 93" looked at this from a much more close to home realism angle. The film told the story of which we all know about. Some hate to relive it but to me after seeing this film I was back in September 11th, 2001. Like "Flight 93" this film featured live shots of the WTC and the planes that crashed into them live from CNN and from Fox news. The approach that the director took with this film I thought was very well done. He showed the realism behind the religions of both Americans and the Arabic's, with many scenes of different ethnicity backgrounds praying in fear that they may soon see fate. There were many shots from with in the control towers and the flight traffic command centers. Showing the emotional charge that those people were going through as they witnessed this tragic event. Though we all know the outcome of this film it is still very interesting and amazing to see how accurate this film actually was. There may have been a couple exaggerated parts but nothing to the extreme that people would get upset, or offended by. I left the theater with a crowd of people whom of which couldn't say a word until they were clearly out of the theater. This picture brought that much respect and feeling with it that I was hoping for with a film that is based on one of the most horrific days in American history. Great acting and great direction. The visuals were unbelievable and the realism and not to mention the accuracy of the facts. |
