It´s the "Godfather 2" of superhero movies

Astonishing. Suspenseful. "The Dark Knight" is one crazy superhero masterpiece.
Director Christopher Nolan brings us the best superhero movie that will hit the screen for a long time. Christian Bale is amazing, and Heath Ledger, BUM! He is unforgettable, and definetley deserves the Oscar.
"Knight" begins right were "Begins" left off; Joker calling card, and Psychopaths on the run from the asylum. What´s next for the 2 and a half hours is one incredible action-packed adventure, that "will leave you on the edge of your seat".
I copied the thingy from yahoomovies so I don´t give any spoilers or stuff:
"With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Eckheart), Batman (Bale) sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante."
Now that's some heavy Shakespearean ***** right there. For the first time in my life I have never seen a movie that has set me on a point were I'm incredibly anxious, nervous, and worried for every character in a movie.
Nolan brings the comic book into a real life version, exactly the way it is. This is no stupid world domination crap, or freezing a whole city. Ledger gives us one of the most creepy, disturbing, and crazy performances there'll ever be. He is no silly buffoon or any crap like that, he plays with the tongue, his attitude, and at the most disturbing moments he gives us the comic in it. We never exactly learn were the joker came from, but we do get a good idea. He plays with peoples´ lifes, and anyone can die at any moment. He is one crazy son of a bitch, and deserves the Oscar no matter what. For once it´s true, you have to see it to believe it.
Bale plays the best batman that has ever been. Batman Begins was about Bale, this is about Ledger. Caine, Freeman, and Gyllenhaal, all play fantastic. Aaron Echkheart is another good one, taking the charisma, and determination of his first personality into madness and rage of two-face well done.
The action sequences are fantastic capturing all the suspense and fight in every one of them. Its bigger and better than Batman Begins. And the visuals are a feast. Amazing. Nolan not just exceeded himself, but made the best superhero action scenes there´ll be for a while.
Unlike many past directors, Nolan grabbed the characters and twisted them, he made them realistic. The screenplay is just adequate, and the story just keeps getting better.
Overall The Dark Knight gets an A+! (My second A+, by the way). It´s not just a movie, I think it´s an event. You can take your dog, your grandmother, the dad, even the sisters, they´ll all come out happily. But for now, my only concern with the movie is Ledger. Why? Nolan better be planning a third, Cause this kind of movies don´t just come around the corner. It´s the Godfather 2 of superhero movies. |
