The Quintessential Traveler’s Movie
by DaneG (movies profile)

I’d like to compare Americano to others, but can’t. I’ve never seen a movie that so completely presents the spirit of traveling. I’ve never seen a movie that inspires me to jump on a plane tonight and fly to some far off land. I’ve never seen a movie that could present what books seem to have only done before. Of course Discovery Channel documentaries come close, but none can capture the emotion of the traveler’s in their stories quite like this movie has.
Having, myself, done the two-month soul-searching backpacking trip through Europe within the last six-months this movie struck a special cord in my heart. Kevin Noland is an obvious traveler. From the way Spaniards and Spain were presented, to the way that Americans act while traveling, he hasn’t missed a thing. Only a seasoned traveler with a serious case of wanderlust could capture these things so perfectly.
I caught this movie only by chance, and have been telling all my friends about it since. Definitely see this in the theaters if you can, if you can’t… pre-order it on Amazon… I already have! |
