Matthew McConaughey, Matthew Fox, David Strathairn, Ian McShane, Anthony Mackie & Kate Mara all do a wonderful job in this movie. The acting is superb. The critics are clueless like usual.
I would hope most people know what this movie is about but here's the plot anyway.
In 1970, while traveling back to Huntington, West Virginia after a game in North Carolina 75 members of Marshall's football team and coaching staff were killed in a plane crash instantly leaving the town in a state of shock. The grieving families soon found something to believe in. It was the leadership of Jack Lengyel(McConaughey), a young new coach who was determined to rebuild Marshall's football program meanwhile making the town believe in something in order to get over their grief.
This is a great movie that has a different ending then what happened in real life but it makes for a better movie. They also did that for The Natural and that turned out better.
Go see this movie and Rocky Balboa too! They both are great movies. |
