I just got in from viewing "Awake" and I see VERY mixed reviews. I suspect that critics will be mixed, if not hard on it, but I was purely entertained by it. I could sit in a movie theatre and look at Jessica Alba knitting for 1 1/2 hours, but, although her acting is not great, it is convincing. Terence Howard is as always very solid and the lead, well, there's not much more he could do because a lot of his work is voice over narration.
I'm not going into the plot because the whole movie is full of spoilers, but I see most all new releases each year at the theatre and have for over 30 years and this movie was thoroughly entertaining. The people who called the plot "transparent" are fooling themselves. I figured it out, but not as early as these self-proclaimed Einstein's claim, and again, I see a lot of films, and I'm very critical. At least it has imagination. |
