Not a horror film. That bugged me!

No one likes a bait-and-switch played on them. Thats just what this movie is. We have all seen the trailers-- they led us all to believe that there would be some bugs... bad bugs! Alas - and a spoli alert (take it!) there ARE NO BUGS!
"Snakes on a plane," gave us snakes on a plane. Bugs fails to live up to its name, and I (like many) felt like I'd been had. It is a story of a lonely woman (Asley Judd) who finds company and refuge from abuse in a guy she meets who slowly slides deeper and deeper into psychosis, that is, he thinks that bugs have been planted in his body. They become codependent, and reality comes crashing in on them in the end.
Ashly is brilliant in this movie, and her performance (and body) are mostly all this low budget drama have going for it. Indeed, alomost all of it is shot in one hotel room.
When the credits roll, we see that this movie is based on a play, a play that may well have worked on stage. You leave the theater feeling that hyping this movie as a horror fest, and thgus tricking people to come see it, was the only way the marketers of the film thought they would sell the few tickets it will take to pay for the cost of making it.
