I just saw this movie, and was blown away. The story was original, a breath of fresh air from the several safe, over done, blockbuster flops we saw this summer. I've personally almost given up on going to Movie Theaters all together, but this movie gives me hope in Hollywood. Many people have said that this movie is too confusing. True, the director, Flowers, does take us on a wild ride through the past and present, but I was right there with it. I think movies have dumbed down the audience, but this one forces you to use your mind or get lost in the story. Basically, if you thought it was confusing, then you probably weren't really paying attention. This movie doesn't hand you it's plot on a silver platter, it makes you find it on your own. I thought Orlando was really great as Shy. I'm a fan of POTC and LOTR, but this character was great for Bloom. He really seemed to adopt it and make it his own. Zoe was brilliant as always. I'm a big fan of hers, and it was great to see her really act. Paxton, MAckie, Bryant, everyone was great as a supporting cast. I will definitely get this when it comes out on DVD. |
