More than just a fight movie

The movie is in a foreign language with English subtitles. The difference in culture might seem weird or awkward. But, by the end of the movie I was touched by the important message it presented.
A son, Jet Li (Huo Yuanjia), grows up wanting to be a fighter like his Father. He misses the great lesson that life is not about winning fights but learning from your weaknesses. Learning to become a better person and truly mastering oneself is better than winning a fight without learning anything about yourself. The son learned the hard way, but by the end of the movie we can't help but cheer for the life he lived and stood for.
Hopefully one walks away with the important message that a person can truly master himself and change. If the only thing a person notice is that the culture is weird or funny, it is in a foreign language with English subtitles who does not enjoy reading, or the movie does not have great fight scenes, then the person misses out on a great movie. Fearless, is more than just a fight movie. |
