I read one "legit review" (before screening) that suggested this biopic is hard to follow, fragmented etc. I can't say for sure if this is true, as I had recently seen both "Superstar" and "Basquiat" (on DVD) as part of researching the life and times of Mr. Warhol.
I saw this film at the Arclight in Hollywood and found it to be extremely enjoyable, despite the depressing aspect of the subject material.
Guy Pearce and the lead actress are both great, no suspension of disbelief necessary. Mena Suvari was so camoflaged I didn't realize who it was until I read the credits later at imdb.
I suppose this is the closest I will come to visiting this era in a time machine... |
