..and it didn't disappoint. Although Factory Girl isn't for everyone, it is definately something that an Edie Sedgewick or Sienna Miller fan should see, as well as anyone who has lived on the fringe of society. I found Sienna Miller excellent and exactly as I would have expected Edie to be like if I had been fortunate enough to meet her. Sure she was screwed up. One only needs to research her family history to see why and that is complicated even more because of the absolute power that her family's money was able to wield. Having experienced first hand the horrors of drug addiction, I found Sienna's portrayal hauntingly authentic while bringing a vulnerability to the character that most others Actors can only inspire to be. If she wasn't crying real tears at times proved how much of Edie's past she had unsuccessfully buried. Guy Pearce was great. I've never been an Andy Warhol fan, but I will say that portraying him would not be a simple task. Like Capote, he is a complicated caraciture of himself. Hayden Christianson was miscast and although I found the directing almost campy at times, that's what the 60's are known for. I have seen all contenders for 2006 and it's sad that Sienna Miller didn't get nominated for Best Actress. Personally, I found her performance much more compelling than Helen Mirren's in The Queen |
