Disappointment much?

I must admit that I do not know much about productions and what not, but I can definitely list what ruins a possibly good movie.
First off, "The Nun" had its story all over the place. The exposure and introduction of the characters was very poorly done. How did we get to this part? Who was he and where the hell did he come from? What's the significance of this and that?? There was very poor support for everything. The whole thing seemed like a really bad jugsaw puzzle that have pieces that could never fit. It almost seemed like the writers just put the scenes there because they thought it would be scary, and did not even think of any more reasons as to why they did it. It kind of got annoying after sometime. I found myself asking questions like... "Can't they find any better way to kill him?" or "How did the blonde guy figure everything like that? His character never really gave the impression that he was the 'thinker' type" AND "WHAT?! I thought he wanted to be a priest??"
The acting was horrible.
Direction and visuals weren't too great too. Like what I said earlier, There were scenes that seemed awkward to be in the movie. It usually gave the viewers the urge to ask the questions 'how,' 'why,' and 'wtf??'
The movie had bad lighting, I mean you would lose interest 20 minutes in it. Bad blocking too; the actors seemed to be robots who just followed each other in a straight line like kindergarteners.
It almost turned out to be a comedy rather than a horror movie. Overall, I did not like it one bit[well, except for the funny parts] and I cannot understand why some people would give it such good ratings. |
