Hard to review 2 different movies as ONE but here goes. Planet Terror was so much fun. So gory; so campy and a great tribute to 70's style grindhouse flicks. Death Proof was good, but it didnt have the same nostalgic feel to it that Planet Terror had. I think Quentin Tarantino missed the boat a little in that respect. Death Proof was too conversational and too Tarantino-esque, even too well done in fact. Plant Terror was just more of what I was expecting BOTH films to be.. Death Proof turned out to be just another quirky Tarantino flick, which I liked, but I don't see how it fit into the intended style of this double feature.
The fake trailers were absolutly fantastic! "Machete" and "Warewolf Women of the SS" were especially great! So good in fact you'll wish they'd make such crazy films. |
