I saw the Grudge 2 *japanese version* LAST YEAR and i couldn't sleep or be alone for a couple of months...seriously. I thought it was the CREEPIEST movie ever and it really makes you think about the ghost alot! What made it a masterpiece was the images of the ghost. The ghosts are played by real actors and I feel proud of them for playing such role.
I thought the Grudge 2 *american version* will just be exactly the same as the Grudge 2*jap version* except not as scary, because then it will be RATED R. IT TURNED TO BE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT~!!! For example, grudge 2 *american vers.* has new charactersthat are related to the first movie. BUt japanese grudge 2 has a completely new casts with new stories.
THE SIMILARITIES: american and jap version have three-4 different stories, and the stories end up being all related to each other.
OUT Of the 4 stories, i liked the one about the three teenageeres, and they made it MORE scarier than the jap version for that story too. IN jap vers. ,the teenagers die in the restroom, but american vers. has each of them dying in a UNIQUE way.
EDISEN CHEN IS IN THE STORY!! YES!!! HE"S ONE HOT ASIAN FOR SURE!!
The Grudge 2 american vers. is so much scarier than the first. FOr example, in the first one, the ghost was BLACK DUST!! wat the heck rite??!! THIS TIME, they have the ghost's face as big as the SCREEN! they will freak you out for shizzle! Like how the there were banging sounds on the wall all the time........SPOILERS!!! it was a girl banging on the wall and she was cursed. BUT in the jap verision,...it was the ghost boy pushing the dead HANGED man's legs as if it was a swing onto the wall, which makes the wall go "bumps...bumps...BUMMPPS!!". that was the ***** in the jap vers.
The grudge 2 jap vers. has the ghost with blood on her face which is BEEPing scaring!
I dont know why, but the Grudge 2 *american vers.* did not put the three stories together as WELL as the jap vers. SInce stupid girls were screaming and guy were laughing to flirt with the girls in the audience, the ending made me go "wat the hell?" the ending ended unsatisfied for me, maybe just beceause the audience were too noisy.
STILL! I am sure this is the best movie for Halloween in 2006. =) the SCARY scenes which includes good visulal and sound effect is better than the story and castings. ITS Definetly better than the first one. Americans will be shocked how a "scary" movie can be really scary, and not seeing stupid bodies being chopped off. |
