My husband is a fire fighter in a small Texas town. I expected this to be the story of two ordinary cops and ordinary fire fighters who saved them. It was so much more. I can remember the news reels that were used in the movie. How the paper and debris came down for days it seemed. I was in awe at the preformances of Nick Cage and Michael Pina'. The story that I didn't know was the one the took my breath away. You expect that people were hurt and people were working to save the survivors. I had not heard the story of the lone Marines that stood there ground and saved those two policeman when all the search efforts were stopped. I am in awe to that marine Dave Karnes. I am sure he is one of the many that rose above all of the evil that happened that day but, to me he was one of God's angels on earth. What an awesome man. We needed a hero that day. Dave was that man in my book. |
