It has a message that is relevant to the people all the countries - Every one could connect to this movie at some level.
It conveys WAKE UP AND TAKE CHARGE It does not preach , It sets the tiker unconsiously in you to do something in this new age.
The movie is said to have inspired the method of demonstrating protest in some subsequent issues in India. The protest against the aquittal of the accused persons in Jessica Lal murder case and the 2006 Indian anti-reservation protests are some examples.

The Music director : A R Rahman's compositions stands excellent.
"Rahman's first movie album Roja was listed in TIME magazine's TOP 10 Movie Soundtracks of all time; source. According to BBC Rahman is reported to have sold 100 million records world-wide. This figure may understimate his actual success as he has sold over 200 million cassettes."
The Actor: Aamir Khan
his Lagaan (land tax) was a Oscar Nominee in the best foreing film category in 2002 , speaks lots about him
The cinematography is world class
It digs into Indian History and independence with prominient people apart from Gandhi- that the world is aware of.
It shows/answers how and why the Secular India
is like that.
DO watch this one out -its not boring - This is not like the rest of the indian cinema - this defines the changing face of cinema.
The song run in background - not making you wonder why are they...
Oh by the way its already out in DVD's - look for it in a Indian marts (USA)
