This was a great indie-style coming of age story. It is based on the true story of Dito Montiel, who grew up in a rough area in Astoria, New York. Dito comes to an important conclusion about life.....when it comes down to it....all we really have at the end of the day is good friends and family. The screenplay was brilliantly written by Dito and the movie was also directed by him as well! There are quite a few young unknown actors/actresses in this movie, and all did an excellent job in their respective roles. The only recommendation I have......they should have had Sting write the instrumental score as well.......or at least had him contribute some of his brilliant songs to the movie. |
