I saw Nacho Libre today and it's a fair movie. It won't be winning an Academy Award but if you paid for movies like Pink Panther or Chappelle's Block Party, then you should at least pay to see this.
The plot of this movie is rather obvious, so you should already know whether or not you'll like it. If you're a fan of Jack Black's comedy, this movie is a classic! I definitely found myself laughing out loud in the theater (something I don't often do) a few times - especially with his tag team partner always getting the crap kicked out of him in so many various ways.
But you should like this movie IF:
- you like Jack Black
- like wrestling
- like clean comedy movies (I don't think I heard a single cuss word) - so yes, the kids can watch this one
You will not like this movie IF:
- you don't care much for Jack Black
- you think wrestling's gay
- you think you could write the best comedy screen play ever and you won't laugh at cheesy humor
The total movie runs about 90 min, plus 10-20 minutes for your advertisements and previews.
This movie is no must see... unless you're a Jack Black fan like me! |
