THIS is one movie that was made in NOT-AT-ALL GLORIOUS PUKERAMA!
Really, I found the characters in this movie, as well as the film as a whole, as non-redeeeming as the likes of Hitler, Charles Manson, and Paul Bernadro and Karla Homolka!
C'mon, even though (thankfully!) I can't speak from personal experience (and this film only reinforces my attitude to forever avoid drugs like the plague!), to expect someone like the main characer Syd (Chris Evans) to snort that much cocaine, then manage to physically pull himself up to go to a going-away party for his soon-to be ex London (Jessica Biel), only to go into a bathroom with yet another loser and yet snort more "cocaine snow" than all of Canada gets REAL snow in the harshest winter, and then babble on about God, life, the Universe, etc ... he'd be lucky to have a pulse!!!
And this flick clearly shows that Jessica ("7th Heaven") Biel is at a low point in her career; with films like "Elizabethtown", "Stealth", and ESPECIALLY "London", these seem to be Jessica's "turkey days". Biel needs and deserves 100% better roles that show just how good a strong yet gentle woman can be as a character -- someone like I sense Jessica Biel likely is.
I, for one, am glad Jesscia Biel (both as London and in real life) called it quits with ex-boyfriend/"London" costar Chris Evans (also as Syd and in real life)!
JESSICA, YOU DESERVE WAAAAY BETTER ROLES THAN EVEN THE PREACHER'S DAUGHTER YOU PLAYED ON "7TH HEAVEN" -- STOP SETTLING FOR LESS THAN THE BEST!!! |
