If you want a movie that will entertain you, and tickle the ol' visual cortex, then you're in luck. If you think every movie should get your mental juices flowing, you better keep flowing.
Folks, this is a COMIC BOOK MOVIE. A certain appreciation for the melodrama, stilted dialogue and predicable plots is necessary. Good versus evil. Posturing monologues. Posing heroically (or diabolically). All the trappings of the genre are here, so enjoy it for what it is.
The best of of this movie was, undoubtedly and predictably, the special effect. It was a visual spectacular, and please take it as such. Those segments of the movie going public who need sweeping themes making a deconstructionist comment on... something... Well ride on.
Basically, if you want to be entertained for a couple hours, this is a pretty good flick to do it. But don't expect Oscars to fall like fire from the sky on doomsday. |
