I'm a huge fan of the books I've read Prince Caspian twice, I recommend that you read that instead of seeing this film.
The movie is horrible, I'm sorry it is. People who haven't read the book may like it, the ones who have read the book will not. Then again my ten year old son, was laughing at some of the cheesey stuff in this film.
I was aggravated at how something you would read early on in the book would appear in the movie much later, they had everything out of order, and that ruined the experience for me.
The movie just seems rushed, eager to get to the action scenes. My son said it was hard to follow he was confused, he had to keep asking me whats going on dad? Honestly when I pay so much now a days to see a movie thats rated PG, with a $200 million buget I expect alot out of the film.
The action scenes (though theres more action than the first) I found them to be boring, all of them every single action scene I was not impressed by them, and that seemed like their main focus in this film was to have this thing loaded with action instead of keeping it real to the books.
The acting is pretty bad a bit better than the first. They picked the wrong guy for Prince Caspian, and whats with Caspian and Susan flirting. Ugh, thats Hollywood for ya. Don't expect much of Aslan either he's only in the film for about 5 minutes.
If you liked the film thats fine, but if you haven't read the books you can't fully understand how frustrated I am. No wonder they didn't let you write reviews on here for opening weekend. It sucks having to write harsh reviews, but I'm just being honest, please read the book and skip this film. |
