"Diggers" was a movie that at first really didn't want to see but after missing an earlier show of Jake Kasdan's "In The Land of Women" this was my backup movie.
The story set in the '70s during the Gerald Ford administration and located in the Hamptons long before Diddy made it a hot party spot for the rich folks during the summer tells the story of Van (Paul Rudd) who after oversleeping finds out that his dad had a heart attack and fell in the water.
Along with his three best friends and sister Gina (Maura Tierney),they have a hard time adjusting to the worst season of clam digging because the corporations are taking over the lakes and Van attracts an admirer (Lauren Ambrose) from New York City on her vacation who likes his photographs.
If you haven't seen this movie from Magnolia Pictures and HDNet Films, I highly recommend it and its already out on DVD so go get it and if you got HDTV go find on your channel.
Great performances mostly from Paul Rudd and the cast are enjoyable.
While you won't care for the plot the movie still has its moments. |
