This was absolutely the worst movie I have ever seen. Well, I quess I should give it a little credit, it was, at least, better than Eyes Wide Shut. I am a huge space program/astronomy buff, and I generally love any movie that has to do with either of those things, but this was horrible.
This was a movie that was supposed to be about the american dream. It's a nice thought, but they failed tremendously. The "dream" was not in the least bit realistic. It's about an astronaut that has to leave the space program to go save the family farm. The farmer, who is aptly named Farmer (very imaginative), decides to make up for his missed oppurtunity by building a rocket in the barn in his backyard. The rocket, which is straight from the Mercury Program, is made out of used/spare parts he got from "the rocket graveyard". I'm sure that NASA just throws all their used stuff in the local junkyard which is opened to the public to come in and peruse. It was all just a little far-fetched and unbelievable. Another thing that really bothered me was the absense of any backstory or sub-plots. I could go on and on, but if you do decide to go waste your money and see this movie, I don't really want to ruin it.
In short, I want my money back. |
