This was a wonderful film, but had a bit of a slow start. Once it finds its timing both as a comedy and as a drama it really takes off. Lots of good adult jokes kept me entertained while the slapstick and kid drama kept the kids glued to their chairs. When the father and son finally "click" I actually found myself wiping away a tear - very good dialogue!
The dog acting is pretty amazing- and it is SO REFRESHING to see real dogs and real actors after seeing bad computer generated animal films.
The bad-guy aspect of the plotine wasn't anything especially new, but if I was 6-10 years old I'm sure I would have been captivated.
I really recommend this film for a good bunch of thrills, lots of laughs, and a meaningful drama / relationship morals between the difficulties of parenting and kids learnig to handle responsibility. |
