The only thing in the way of this whole thing being a dead-certain Oscar nomination is that the story itself is so predictable that there is really no dramatic tension. The rest of it is utterly lovely. The acting is excellent all around. The script has some great lines in it. The cinematography is breath-taking. And the director makes the most of what he has to hand. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it as well and he's looking forward to the DVD. And everybody left the theater with a smile on their faces. |
