Intense. Action-packed. You won't be able to take your eyes off the screen! All the previous statements seem familiar? It is because they use those sayings for any movie that has ever been released in any theater in the country, even if the movie is a documentary about watching paint dry. However, this movie surprised me. It actually was a very entertaining movie and a great look into the lives of how some people must survive in some 'bad' areas of Los Angeles. You know, this movie only is showing in about 5 theaters in my hometown (Pittsburgh). Big surprise, huh? It is amazing to me how much racism impacts this City. If you have ever been here (or lived here), you know exactly what I mean. But anyway, on to the movie. Tyrese Gibson does a great job acting in this - you honestly feel his emotions coming through the screen. As for the rest of the cast, there are some good performances and some rather dull ones. But this movie isn't about 'character development' or any of that stuff. It is meant to show violence as the only way a man can get his son back. This is unfortunate - but it is right on the money for this Black man's situation in Los Angeles. This is a good movie. Recommended. And I can guarantee you won't be bored during the screening if you decide to go.
