Waist Deep is a crime action thriller that definitely could have toned down on its content. Tyrese Gibson plays O2, a guy who has a criminal
past and is trying to get his life on the straight and narrow. It quickly goes awry when he is carjacked and his son is in the back
seat. He finds out the woman who just tried to sell him some clothes off the street knows who did it. In the melee he kills some people and is off after his son. He can't go to the police because of what he did, and if he does, he will lose his son. He and the girl team up to go after his son with the help of his brother as well. The movie really becomes too much fluff and not enough content. Even the ending seems a little far fetched. Enjoy it for the action, and the premise of the story. The movie is a little overdone. C+ |
