Zodiac was scary, suspenseful (most of the time), it has plenty of what seems to be authentic recorded phone calls from the Zodiac (I don't know if they were real or not), and it has your typical David Fincher moments (which I adore). I just feel that overall the film was about 20-30 minutes too long. 2 hours and 40 minutes is a long movie, and Zodiac just did not have enough going on to hold my attention the whole time. Remove 20 minutes from the film and it's brilliant. Instead it's just a really great movie. Which is good enough, I guess. I just think Fincher needed to remove a bit more. Robert Downey Jr. is awesome. The murder scene were Zodiac ties the couple up scared the hell out of me, and I don't scare easlily. |
